HIIIIIIIII

It’s been a while since I last posted, but I’m now aiming for regular updates so the page doesn’t feel abandoned. Lately, I’ve been focusing on self‑improvement and building simple projects to sharpen my skills and gauge where I stand. I’m an adult now, and the ā€œprodigyā€ vibe has faded. The new generation of IT professionals graduating in the Philippines is impressively skilled—the quality of IT and CS education has clearly improved. That’s good news, but this post isn’t about that; it’s about a new project I’m excited to share.

Re‑entering the Blockchain Space

Blockchain has always felt like a second home to me. It was the first technology that truly ignited my passion for coding and problem‑solving—my career in software engineering literally began with smart contracts and decentralized ledgers. After a few years of focusing on other stacks, I realized I’d left a piece of myself behind, and the pull to get back into the space has grown stronger than ever.

In the past, my most recent foray into blockchain was the Simple ERC‑20 Minter—a lightweight tool that let anyone deploy a basic ERC‑20 token with a single click. The project served as a good learning exercise, but the codebase quickly became stale: newer tooling, better security practices, and the sheer breadth of contract patterns I’d seen since then were missing. I didn’t want to keep a project that felt like a relic, so I decided it was time to start fresh.

Enter Smart Deploy. This new platform is not just a clone of the minter; it’s an evolution that embraces the full spectrum of EVM‑compatible networks and the growing ecosystem of wallet integrations. The goal is simple but powerful: give non‑technical users and developers alike the ability to deploy any smart contract—ERC‑20, ERC‑721, or beyond—with just one click, all while keeping their private keys safely inside their own wallet.

What is Smart Deploy?

  • Web‑based, one‑click deployment of smart contracts to any EVM‑compatible blockchain.
  • Supports ERC‑20 and ERC‑721 tokens out of the box; more contract types will follow.
  • Designed with security in mind: the user’s private key never leaves their wallet.
  • Connects to multiple EVM networks and a wide variety of wallets via ThirdWeb—still a solid choice for integrating Web3 into web apps after years in the space.

Smart Deploy is a practical tool for non‑technical users who want to deploy smart contracts privately using their own wallets. It also serves as a safe channel for clients who commission me to write contracts, eliminating the need to share sensitive keys.

Why the timing feels right now?

For one, the blockchain landscape has matured dramatically. Protocols have moved from proof‑of‑work to more sustainable consensus mechanisms, tooling like ThirdWeb has streamlined wallet and network integration, and security best‑practice frameworks are now more accessible than ever. With these foundations in place, I can focus on building a user‑first experience without compromising on safety.

This project also marks a personal milestone. After stepping away from the space for a while, I felt the urge to reconnect with the community, the cutting‑edge problems, and the sense of empowerment that decentralization offers. Smart Deploy is my answer to that call—a bridge between the technical and the everyday, allowing anyone to own and control their own smart contracts without risking sensitive keys.

What’s Next

I’ll continue creating lightweight web‑app platforms across various technologies. With AI tools on my side, I can develop faster—compared to my former self three years ago!

I’m currently finishing Quizzical Coders, a new, simple web app that will launch in the coming weeks.

And as I publish this post, I am launching my own Vercel‑compatible hosting solution: a self‑hosted instance for aldrickb.app powered by Coolify.

Stay tuned for more updates—I’ll keep the conversation going!
